Carpe Diem Coaching™ launched to the market

When you’ve delivered a successful programme for 17 years, there’s a temptation to retain the status quo.

At the very heart of OTD's coaching and training is a desire to continually inspire and innovate, rather than reflecting on past achievements.

Step forward Carpe Diem.

Last year OTD set itself a challenge: to take this popular coaching programme, and make it even better.

It wanted to create something truly special, so it called upon some incredible minds as part of a new advisory panel, reflecting the views and expertise of global customers, OTD coaches and a variety of businesses the company had never worked with before.

The result is Carpe Diem Coaching™, a unique coaching approach tailored to job role, industry and personal needs.

It’s based on daily microbursts of 7-minute coaching calls with a specialist OTD coach. Each call is purposely designed to challenge, motivate and inspire participants to meet their goals - with the entire process underpinned by a newly developed app, giving learners access to coaching on the move.

OTD customers have found that the refreshed programme adds particular value in three key areas:

  1. Momentum: when building towards a product or campaign launch, preparing for a new brand direction or entering a new target market.
  1. Change: when driving cultural or organisational change, implementing a new strategy or where challenged to make significant behavioural change.
  1. New Horizons: supporting progression towards a new opportunity, perhaps when returning to work, for a newly appointed manager or when beginning a graduate scheme.

OTD Head of Outcomes, Ali Barker, has spearheaded the development of Carpe Diem Coaching™.

She said: “Over the years we’ve progressed from capturing goals using paper, to an Excel spreadsheet, to various platforms. While those platforms were useful, the whole premise of Carpe Diem Coaching™ is that you can do this anywhere, whether you’re at your desk or not, in tiny bursts of daily coaching.

“The desire for a modern day learning experience has led to an app where you can set goals, connect to your coach, review your progress and gain feedback.

“You're far more likely to ‘do it’ when you can view it and the new app greatly supports the process. It creates habits of daily goal setting, being concise and focused, and ultimately builds momentum towards behavioural change.”
